SHEAVES is an invite-only, peer network of incorporated Pagan and nature-focused, land-based organizations. It exists to support regular communication, relationship-building, shared learning, and mutual support—so each community can get stronger while staying fully self-governed.

This portal is hosted by Deeply Rooted Church for coordination and information-sharing. Deeply Rooted speaks only for Deeply Rooted and does not speak for, represent, or make decisions on behalf of the SHEAVES network or any participating community. Each organization speaks for itself, and all collaboration remains rooted in autonomy and consent-based consensus.

Stewards of the Land

SHEAVES communities are stewards of land—not as an aesthetic, and not as a brand, but as a daily practice. We hold a working relationship with the land through stewardship, ecological sustainability, education, and spirituality: maintaining trails and habitat, protecting water and soil, tending sacred spaces, and building the skills that keep land-based communities durable across seasons and generations.

We do this in different ways—nature preserves, retreat sanctuaries, living communities, and dedicated gathering sites—however the shared ethic is the same: reciprocity, safety, and continuity, with the land treated as a partner rather than a backdrop.

Guardians of Community

We are also guardians of community—the human systems that make land-based work possible. SHEAVES exists so we can share practical knowledge, policies, and hard-won lessons without reinventing the wheel in isolation.

We support one another through communication, shared learning, and relationship-building across organizations, with an emphasis on continuity: keeping commitments, preserving institutional memory, and building structures that outlast any one leader.

Each community remains fully self-governed, and each speaks for itself; our goal is simple and durable—stronger connections, clearer coordination, and a legacy of care that future stewards can inherit without chaos.

Meet the Deeply Rooted SHEAVES Team

    Wade Mueller (he / him)

    FOUNDER OF DEEPLY ROOTED CHURCH

    Wade Mueller is the founder of Deeply Rooted Church and has spent roughly 25 years steadily stewarding the land and the community that grew around it.

    His primary spiritual study is Norse tradition, with a particular dedication to Tyr and a service-forward ethic. Wade’s leadership style is practical and low-ego—more “show up and do the work” than spotlight—grounded in oaths, right action, and a lived partnership with the land.

    In the context of SHEAVES, he serves as Deeply Rooted’s primary point of contact for coordination.

    Shawni Frady (she / her)

    VOLUNTEER

    Shawni Frady is a long-time volunteer and on-site caretaker at Deeply Rooted Church, living on the land since 2021.

    Her path is rooted in Finnish folklore, with a steady focus on practical, land-based care. Shawni currently serves on the Board of Directors with responsibility for Gardens and the Youth Committee, and she is also part of the lay clergy training program.

    Originally from Centralia, Washington, she brings a grounded, service-first ethic alongside deep animal advocacy—she is vegan, and her ecology focus centers on waterfowl and healthy habitat.

    Shining Rayne Quillomena (they / them)

    VOLUNTEER

    Shining Rayne Quillomena has been part of Deeply Rooted Church since 2011, lived on the land full-time in 2012–13, and has served as an on-site caretaker again since 2022.

    Ordained since 2018, Quill’s spiritual work is rooted in Norse culture and tradition, with primary devotion to Freya, Tyr, and Odin.

    In community life, Quill brings steady advocacy for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, and for LGBTQIAP+ people, alongside practical hosting logistics and safety-focused care that helps guests and members navigate off-grid space with clarity and dignity.

SHEAVES at Paganicon (Twin Cities Pagan Pride) 📍

Paganicon is a full-weekend indoor Pagan conference (programming, entertainment, vendors, and more), hosted in Bloomington, Minnesota on March 20–22, 2026. Twin Cities Pagan Pride (the organizer) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and volunteer-run. SHEAVES is participating as guests/attendees with shared outreach presence at party suites.
